Frequently asked questions

Do I need a credit card for the trial?

No. You get full access for 14 days without entering payment details. Your email identifies your trial licence and lets us send essential service messages.

What happens when the trial ends?

You will need an active paid licence to continue using the app. The trial does not renew or charge you automatically. Your saved local data is kept when the trial expires.

Can I use the same license on my desktop and VPS?

Yes. Each subscription allows activation on up to 2 devices. If you change hardware, you can deactivate a device from the app's Settings and free up the slot.

How do I cancel?

Cancel anytime via the customer portal linked from your purchase receipt email. You keep access until the end of your current billing period.

Do you offer refunds?

Yes - every paid charge is covered by a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you're not satisfied for any reason, email [email protected] within 30 days and we'll refund the charge in full. Full details on the Refund Policy page.

Does AlgoRecon copy trades between accounts?

No. AlgoRecon is not a trade copier and never places, modifies, or copies trades. If you already use a third-party copier to mirror a master MT5 account onto other accounts (prop-firm or live), AlgoRecon's Copy Check audits the result after the fact - comparing closed master and destination trade history and flagging possible missed copies, unexpected extras, and copy delays.

Can missing backtest data affect the results?

Yes. Missing price history can leave trades out of a retest. AlgoRecon flags detected data gaps, counts the MT5-only trades that fall within them, and provides steps for refreshing the affected history. These checks help you investigate; they do not establish the cause of every mismatch.

Which brokers and prop firms does AlgoRecon work with?

AlgoRecon connects to MT5 accounts using the login, server and password you provide, through an app-managed terminal. We recommend a read-only investor password. Copy Check handles differences in broker symbol names and server clocks automatically. AlgoRecon can install MT5 for supported brokers, including FTMO and Darwinex, with a general MT5 option for other brokers. Individual broker and account restrictions can affect connectivity.

Does it run on Mac or Linux?

AlgoRecon runs on Windows 10 and 11. There is no native Mac or Linux version. You can use it on a Windows PC or Windows VPS.

Who is AlgoRecon for?

Traders who run StrategyQuant strategies on MT5 and want to compare live trades with retest results. Copy Check is also for traders reviewing closed trades across master and destination MT5 accounts. AlgoRecon never places, modifies or copies trades, holds no funds, and provides no investment advice.

Does AlgoRecon change anything in StrategyQuant?

Yes. Retests set project dates and run the selected retest step or the project’s configured steps. Those steps can clear databanks and generate exports. Market-data refreshes update history shared by projects in that StrategyQuant installation. Review your settings before running a retest. You can turn off retesting and data refreshes to re-read exports from a previous AlgoRecon run.
